Welcome to The Motherhood Connection
“Lovely reflections on mothering and growing and juggling the magical chaos of three kids.”
Hi, I’m Jenna, I’m a Mum of 3, a Coach for Mums and I host The Inspiring Mums Podcast.
Here on
, I write about how mums can make positive changes in their lives and treat themselves with more self-compassion.I also share the ups and downs of life as a mum of three and how I fit in my writing and coaching work alongside being a stay at home mum.
I’d love for you to subscribe and join my lovely community!
“An honest, generous and thoughtful look at motherhood.”
My kids are 9, 6 and 1 and my own struggles in motherhood led me to retraining as a Coach for Mums. I wanted to work with mums who felt the same as I did. I love being able to support mums in taking more time for them and being kinder to themselves.
I also host ‘The Inspiring Mums Podcast’ which gives mums practical tips on how to make positive changes in their lives.
As well as coaching, I run retreats for mums, I’ve created and delivered well-being workshops for Cardiff University and set up a monthly self-care group for mums in my local community.
You can find out more about how to work with me here.
“I always enjoy Jenna's relatable posts on motherhood.”
“Jenna's publication hits one of my Substack's topics in a supportive and enlightening way - the challenge of balancing motherhood with creativity/personal pursuits.”
So, The Motherhood Connection, what’s it all about?
Two huge parts of my life are being a mum of three, and being a Coach for Mums. I’m a mum who supports other mums to live a life that feels good to them - also while finding out what living a life that feels good to me looks like too.
So, my personal life and professional life is all about motherhood, which is what I’ll be talking about a lot on here.
The connection side of it means to me that everything I talk about on here will all link back to motherhood. The other part of connection is about building a community of like-minded and supportive mums on here, which is something that I love doing here on Substack.
I know what a difference it makes, as a mum, when you feel like you can be open and honest about your experiences of being a mum. To share the really tough bits of being a mum that you didn’t expect. The overwhelm, the rage, the relentlessness.
Sharing these parts of motherhood that we struggle with means that you are actually giving another mum permission to share her truth at the same time, and feel less alone. This is what I hope to do within my community here on Substack.
“Beautiful offerings from Jenna on motherhood.”
A little bit more about me…
I live by the sea near Cardiff with my husband and three kids.
My ideal day would involve a lie in, breakfast in my fave coffee shop, spending an hour or two in a bookshop, the afternoon walking on the beach with my family and then an early night reading or crocheting while I pray that my kids give me a decent night’s sleep!
I love crocheting huge colourful blankets – it’s my current form of meditation.
I’d spend all day reading if I could – 3 books I’ve loved lately are – Again Rachel by Marian Keyes (highly recommend the audiobook), Little Wing by Freya North and London with Love by Sarra Manning.
