I loved connecting with you via Mother Reader Jenna :)
Your piece made me see the connection between what we read as kids/teens and how this matures into what we like to read as adults! I hadn't drawn the connection between loving Goosebumps as a child to my love of reading a good thriller now as an adult, much like your Sweet Valley High to romance reads evolution :)
Ooo I loved this post Jenna! It’s so nice to hear what you’ve been up to and all these precious moments. I also LOVE when my children manage to get into imaginative mode and are lost in a world of wonderment! It’s amazing how the time passes for all of us when everyone is so fully immersed. I also loved hearing about the chats with your daughter about periods and hormones, so great. I hope we will be helping to nurture a new generation of daughters who are in touch with the wisdom of their cycles xx thanks so much for sharing our Holding Stories gathering too! xx
Thank you Lyndsay! It was nice to reflect and realise we'd had a lot of lovely moments in amongst the busyness. Yes, it's really quite amazing how long they can stay in their imaginary world and how elaborate some of the games get too. Yes, it does feel strange to be so open with my daughter, but we are so conditioned not to talk about periods, but I'm hoping that it will all help her understand herself and be kinder to herself in the long run. There's this book called 'Reaching for the Moon' by Lucy H Pearce for girls to read around the time of their first period, so I'll look at getting that. Yes absolutely, they will be even more unstoppable with that knowledge of their cycles! You are welcome, I just know it's going to be the most special event for you, Lauren and all of the attendees. Hope you had a lovely weekend xx
I love these kind of posts! They spark such joy! Celebrating your 100 subs, what a beautiful community you are building here, and thank you so deeply for sharing our event, we are so excited for it! I also love Tara Brach’s teachings… so powerful xxx
Thanks Lauren, I'm so glad you enjoyed the post - it's nice to experiment and write a different kind of post and also reflect on some of the lovely moments too. It's easy to forget those amongst the overwhelm. Aw thanks, I'm so grateful for this lovely community and thank you for being here. Your event just sounds wonderful and I cannot wait to hear how it all goes. Running these events, I think sometimes you get as much out of it as the organiser, as the attendees - do you find that? Tara Brach is just fantastic, she explains self-compassion in such an accessible and relatable way, and her voice on the audiobook is very soothing too. Hope you've had a lovely weekend xx
So lovely. I can't get the images out of my head of the little ones during Easter. They did a potato sack race and the sheer delight and abandon were awesome and amazing.
Ah Jenna, that podcast episode about living in tune with your cycle sounds really interesting it’s something I’m really becoming aware of these days and so conscious of the need to do it. It’s great you are having these conversations with your daughter and I hope I will with my sons too as I think it has such a huge effect on my mood actually it would be great if they understood me a bit better. One day? Although who knows what menopause will be like. I’m excited to listen.
And congratulations on 100 subs so well deserved. 🙌🏻❤️
Hope you enjoy the podcast episode Kylie, it was so good to chat to Jane on the podcast as she's been following cyclical living for years. I love the idea of harnessing the power of our cycles - like so many things I talk about - I wish this stuff was taught to us in school!! Yes, having the conversations with your sons - I love what you say there about it helping them understand you better. Oh gosh, yes, menopause and peri-menopause, that's a whole other ball game but I am glad that it is being spoken about more. Aw thank you, it's so lovely how supportive everyone is on here, it's nice to be over the 100 mark now, very grrateful. Hope you had a lovely weekend xx

Thank you Stephanie, it was so wonderful connecting with you too - thank you for giving me the opportunity!
Oh I love this connection you've made and I'd never thought of it like that too - it's lovely how those parts of us stay with us into adulthood too.

You are welcome Emma, you have so much wisdom and the way you talk about motherhood, it is so relatable. Thank you! x
I am honored, thank you!

I love this Sasha, creating those memories for them and seeing them enjoy themselves, it's just everything isn't it! A real mood lifter! x
