Love your energy, Rahma. Such a beautiful photo. Like you, I also love conversations with children and look forward to doing it all over again with my littlest. There’s so much we can learn from them, especially when it comes to riding those waves of change 💛

It is so special when they start talking isn't it - you realise how much they've picked up and understood up until that point too. And their look of sheer happiness when you guess the word that they are trying to tell you correctly! Hope you are having a lovely summer so far xx

I enjoyed this interview, thank you so much for opening up and sharing Rahma. I particularly resonated with the need to "be seen". I don't need to be on the world stage receiving accolades, but just for those close to me to acknowledge my work of mothering!

Totally. Somebody just to reflect back that what you're doing is extraordinary because it is. Every mother is doing an extraordinary thing

Oh I loved this and related to a lot of what Rahma said. The Mother Nurture circle sounds so beautiful, it is led by Amy who I met in a pregnancy yoga class and who became one of my closest friends during the first six months of my daughter’s life and new motherhood in 2020, we used to walk together (when such a thing was allowed!) most days, before she moved back to SA. We used to call them ‘therapy walks’ and it’s exactly how it felt and was so needed! Also the Naomi Stadlen book is one of the very few books I managed to read in early motherhood and it absolutely helped me to feel seen in amongst all of the unseen xx

How lovely that you both have a mutual connection Lyndsay, what a small world!! It really does feel amazing when you have a close mum friend who just gets it, and you feel so understood. Love the sound of the therapy walks - it's sometimes easier to open up when you are walking too. I'll have to go back and read that book too. Hope you are having a lovely summer so far xx

Yes! Quite amazing really, it is a small world as you say. And yes, finding a mum friend that goes beyond the small talk is a true gift, especially in those bewildering early days. I agree, walking opens up so much for me. Feel like I need to reread the book too. Hope you are enjoying/surviving summer hols! Much love to you xx

Oh, how wonderful that you know Amy! I think those of us who became mothers in 2020 will forever be linked by the experience of that shift in ourselves alongside that shift in the world... So glad you had "therapy walks" available to you ❤️

Completely agree, becoming a mother in 2020 means I can completely divide life before and life after as literally every single thing about my life changed. And yes thank goodness for walks with A! xx
