I loved this post... I really do subscribe to the 'wintering' concept and retreating a little in the colder months to do some resting, inner work and practice a little more peace and calm. Thank you so much for sharing my writing 🙏 I appreciate that so much 💕

Thank you Emily, I'm all for wintering too, I'm happiest cosy in the house with a cuppa, a blanket and a book. We need that rest don't we to balance out the busier months. You are welcome, I really enjoy your posts ❤️

You are welcome Emma, it was such a great post and it really made me stop and think. Do you have any Fall traditions? 🍂

What an honest post Jenna and one I can most definitely relate with.

I think this time of year is a real mix of planning / organising new things to come mixed with the urge to start hunkering down! I will definitely be checking out the book recommendations x

Thanks for your lovely comment Charlotte ❤️. Yes you are so right, those kind of opposing energies together, it's tricky to navigate. Let me know if you read any if the books!

It's so easy to forget that we women are cyclical beings, our energies ebb and flow in relation to the seasons, both internally and externally. I am always comforted in times of unrest by noticing what the natural world is doing and where I am in my cycle. Enjoy those Autumnal days up North Jenna 🍂💛

You are so right Stephanie, it's so easy to forget and I constantly need reminding of it, as it's all too easy to slip into self criticism for me. There is so much comfort to be found in the seasons and our cycles and having that knowledge. Thank you Stephanie, is it Spring where you are now?

It is 🌸🌼🌷

Today I refreshed the mantle with flowers from the garden and now the whole house smells of spring. If I could bottle it and send it your way I would 🥰

Ah I loved this post and your honesty in sharing your experiences and frustrations, very relatable. It’s great to hear that you are finding comfort in embracing the transitional energy of autumn, honouring your energy and yes it is so helpful to remember that we can’t always be on! I love the sound of your recipes and autumn books. I loved many of the posts you featured here and I am so happy to be included, thank you xx

Thank you for your lovely comment Lyndsay - sometimes I think, should I share this?? But then it kind of feels good when I do, to be more honest. We expect so much of ourselves don't we, I think September is a bit of an in-between month of adjusting, in every sense, like you talk about in your post. Do you have any good Aitumn recipes or books that you like the look of or have enjoyed? 🍂

We do put pressure on ourselves. I am guilty of overestimating what I can get done in relatively small slots of time. And I almost never schedule in actual 'down-time'. And yes, you are so right to the adjustment in September, I am still very much in the in-between and yet to find the rhythm but embracing it all! I have been called to make apple crumble and cottage pie so far! I am actually feeling much more called to cook with intention in general after a period of time of really just throwing things together in the time I have...! Books-wise, I currently have Laura Pashby's Chasing Fog, Caro Giles' Twelve Moons (reading over the year by the moons) and Alice Vincent's Why Women Grow on the go (alongside many others close at hand!), one day I will actually finish a book!! xx

Yes, overestimating what I can actually do in a short space of time is my toxic trait!! Ooh love apple crumble and cottage pie, perfect comfort food for Autumn. It's so nice when a little bit of space opens up and you want to cook more, a lot of the time is just trying to make something as quickly as possible here! The books all sound lovely, and I am a fan of dipping in and out of books and having lots oglf books on the go too!xx
