I resonated with this article. I also strive for some quiet time in the mornings, even though it means getting up early and sometimes being tired later on. I wake up and listen to the daily mass readings and then have a cup of tea and some time for meditative prayer before I get into my morning work. I'll have to try journaling right after meditating--it sounds like a good way to tap into your deeper thoughts and feelings.

I love that you are carving out this pocket of morning time just for you Jenna 💗 A moment of stillness to ease ourselves into the day is what all mothers need.

Thanks Stephanie ❤️, those few moments of stillness in the morning make such a difference. Do you have any practices that you like to do in the morning?

My kids still wake up in the night and at the crack of dawn, so having a peaceful morning moment isn't yet a reality, but I'm taking inspiration from you when my time comes. Raspberry season is almost here and I do use this window in the year to go out to the garden first thing and pick the fruit for my breakfast. It's a beautiful invitation from nature to go outside when I would normally stay in.

I feel you on the multiple wake ups and early mornings!! I couldn’t think of a better start to the morning than going outside and getting your fruit for breakfast, just a few minutes outside and seeing what has been happening in the garden, such lovely mindful moments. And raspberries too, my favourite. I bet that homegrown ones taste so much better than shop bought too.
