I agree with this so much! I have a sticker on my water bottle that says “Mind your own motherhood!”. It really gets to me when someone says you should parent a certain way because so and so does it that way. I really trust my own instincts and also pay attention to studies and data. I agree that we should encourage other mothers to trust their own instincts instead of giving advice. ❤️❤️❤️

So glad this post resonated with you Amy ❤️ - also love the sound of your sticker too! Absolutely, all of the advice out there is so overwhelming whether it's from experts, friends or family. Surely trusting our instincts has to be the best way. We know ourselves and our own kids like no one else does. It's quite freeing when you realise that you can just do what you want really! Totally, encouraging and listening to other mums is so important too ❤️ x

100%! I remember getting quite stressed about napping and wake windows until I realised we were both much happier when I ignored any advice! Thankful to read this ahead of baby no. 2. 🙏

Oh gosh, the nap advice, yes very very stressful trying to work it all out when you are sleep deprived yourself too! Motherhood is hard enough as it us without us thinking that it gas to be done a certain way, and I find that everyday is different too. So glad you ignored the advice and found your own way. Aw I didn't realise you were expecting baby number 2,huge congratulations! When are you due? X

Thanks Jenna! Early June, which suddenly doesn’t feel too far away now. It’s funny how I’m coming at it with a different mindset this time - I’m not sure I’ll read any advice!

Oh wow, not long at all now then! Hope you’ve been feeling OK too. I love that you’ve got a different mindset this time, it feels so empowering to be like, nope it’s OK, I’ve got the confidence in myself that I’ll figure this out as I go. No parenting books needed!!

Yes totally. And that even if you don’t follow “the rules” it will probably all end up fine in the end.
